Message	2-pc floating rotors have the rotor connected to carrier via float buttons to allow some lateral movement making for smoother braking. Regular 2 piece is just rotor and carrier solidly bolted together. Mushiness is due to unmatched sizes of pistons in caliper to master cylinder & flex in caliper itself.
